So Long 2011

Nothing prepares you for change.  At least not for me!  However, I take such COMFORT that my Lord Jesus is unchanging.  I'm pretty sure if He were any different, I would lose my mind!  Needless to say, I've had quite a bit of change since my last blog post...hence the abyss of silence.  I can't promise I will get back on the schedule I want with posting recent lessons and meditations in my walk with our sweet Savior (because the next 6 months have once again hit the INSANE radar! *wink*), but I do desire to be more intentional.  Despite the months that have expired since our last chat, I have not forgotten about you (my few faithful followers), and I hope that you've missed me just a little!

If I had to re-cap 2011 without covering every detail, it would be in this poem that the Lord gave me during one of my "midnight wrestling sessions" with Him.  Through much pain, intimacy is born, and for this I am ever grateful to Jesus!

Leave Us a Remnant

Oh leave us a remnant this is my plea
Remove our pride that we may glory in Thee
Oh leave us a remnant of Hope in the dark
Without Thy light, our souls will depart

Oh leave us a remnant without deceit
That our tongues may be used to shout our glee
Oh leave us a remnant when brokenness knocks on our door
So our heart will fear disaster no more

Oh leave us a remnant when evil devours
Grant us Your zeal that we may not cower
Oh leave us a remnant of justice not shame
When all that is left, unrighteousness to blame

Oh leave us a remnant to identify Your name
To love and to serve is our aim
Oh leave us a remnant of peace in the fire
To know You is our greatest desire

Oh leave us a remnant of teachable souls
May Your increase in us be an obsessive goal
Oh leave us a remnant for descendants yet to be
May they see the Light of Life in me

Oh leave us a remnant to be humble and low
With hands held high and faces that glow
Oh leave us a remnant of voices that praise
To serve You shoulder to shoulder, all of our days

(Zephaniah 3)
To the hurting souls of those who believe His mercies are new every morning!
Dedicated to my faithful Dad and Mom
